Before you can access the portal, we have to show you some polices this is an accreditation and regulation requirement. You will only need to read these once. Once you have read these, the system will remember that you have read these.
The Anatomy and Physiology Online Learners Portal had been made as user-friendly as it possibly can be. The system explains what is required for your course and contains a lot off information.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information and advice given in this manual are accurate and up to date. Anatomy and Physiology Online believes that the information is true, safe and accurate at the time of production. Anatomy and Physiology Online cannot accept any legal responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions that may be made. 1.1 - You can book 24 hours a day on our website, where you can pay via credit or debit card, PayPal (no PayPal account needed) or Bank Transfer. Please note that if you pay via bank transfer we will only hold the course open for you for 5 days so funds must be released within this time
1.2 - Please make sure you keep copies of your receipts as duplicates will not be issued.

2 - Delivery
We endeavour to register all training courses within 24 to 48 hours of taking the booking. If a booking is made during normal office hours - Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm, excluding UK bank holidays, please call Anatomy & Physiology Online Course on +44 (0) 1273 974954 (UK) or +27 (0) 1274 36 754 (SA) during office hours - Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, excluding bank holidays, (Easter Holiday- Good Friday through to Tuesday after Easter - Christmas Holiday December 21 through to January 4) this may be completed quicker.
You will receive an email confirmation within 24 to 48 hours days. This email will be sent from firstname.lastname@example.org, the subject heading will be " Anatomy & Physiology Online Course Confirmation. PLEASE READ THIS EMAIL IN FULL". If you book online the student form is completed at the time of checkout. It is extremely important that the information you give us is complete and correct.
If you require any help with learning, this needs to be declared on the form. If you have an Educational Report Statement or an Educational Health Care Report/Plan, outlining your learning needs, this needs to be submitted prior to starting the course, so that the relevant help and support can be discussed and put in place. If we are not able to facilitate your requirements, we will work with you to help try to find a suitable training school which will be able to facilitate your requirements.

Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses is registered with data protection and follow the guidelines set in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 to protect your rights. Any personal details obtained through our course booking procedure will NOT be sold, rented, leased or disclosed to others.
5.3 - Links
Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses accepts no liability for the content or practices of any websites that may be linked to or through this site or embedded in any of the training portals. Such links are maintained "as is" for information purposes only and Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses does not, therefore, necessarily approve of or endorse the content of those sites.
6.1 - System Service Level
Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses products are hosted securely with a licensed Moodle Partner. Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses has a service level agreement with the Moodle Partner that states that the hosting environment shall normally be available on a 24x7 basis with a 99.8% uptime guarantee. This excludes scheduled downtime that is occasionally required for upgrades and is agreed with Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses in advance. The system is very stable, and downtime is extremely rare, however, should the Moodle service be lost for a period of time due to circumstances beyond the control of Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses, Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses takes no responsibility whatsoever for any loss of business or earnings and will not under any circumstances be liable for any costs, losses or inconvenience incurred directly or indirectly from the downtime.
7 - Training Manuals and Certification
Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses uses a computerised education system called a “Moodle” (we call this the Learners Portal) for all courses. This system is used across all education levels and is easy to use. You will need to have basic computer skills to use this system. An email will be sent to you on your training day, giving you the information you need to access this system.
7.1 - Training Manuals: Will be downloadable to each learner via their online Learning Portal. These manuals will be available to download for 60 days once your course has started. It will be the learner's responsibility to download and save their training manuals within this time. Manuals can be read on all devices.
7.2 - Certification: Certification for all our courses is sent via email. This is sent to you once you have met the learning outcomes and final assessments. We aim to have all the certification sent to you within seven working days.
7.3 - Certification will be issued under the name you gave at the time of booking. Please make sure you keep copies of manuals and certificates as duplicates will not be issued.
8 - Cancellations
Cancellations will only be dealt with during office hours Monday to Friday. 9 am till 5 pm, excluding bank holidays. If you email or telephone out of these office hours, the cancellation will be dealt with on the next working day. This will be the date the cancellation was received and will be the date the admin office will work from. Once you have received the online course you have a 7-day cooling off period. However, once you have logged onto the course Portal, no refund will be issued, even if this falls within the first 7 days.
9 - Course Timeframe
All online courses must be completed within 12 months this includes the final assessment. Courses can only be deferred with the permission of Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses. You must apply in writing for an extension and documentation may be required from you for this.
10 - Marking Your Coursework
All submitted work is marked by a qualified Assessor and monitored by an IQA (Internal Quality Assurance). We aim to mark all coursework within twenty-one working days of submission. Your Learners Portfolio is marked continually during your course, so please upload work as you complete it, instead of uploading a large number of documents all at once. If there is going to be a delay in marking, we will endeavour to publish this information beforehand within the Learners Portal.
11.1 - Online Assessments
Each course has a final assessment which is completed via the online system.
The system will choose the theory questions and labelling questions for your assessment from a question bank, so we are not able to advise what will be in the assessment.
You cannot take the final assessment until you have met all the learning outcomes required to take the course. These are clearly explained in all our courses.
It is the learns responsibility to make sure that all coursework is saved and backed up. Lost coursework is the reasonability of the learner, not Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses. If you are completing your assessment with another ITEC or VTCT assessment centre, you must take your original Pathology assignments with you on your assessment day, failure to do this would mean you can't sit your assessment.
11.2 - ITEC and VTCT qualification exam have to be invigilated by an assessor and we are one of the few training schools who meet the requirements to allow you to complete your online assessment online in your own home and country. However, if you wish you can always come to our training venue in Brighton to complete the assessment. To be able to complete your final assessment online, you must have access to our assessment program called “GoToMeeting”.
Final assessment dates will be given to you once you have reached the needed learning outcomes and when you advise us that you are ready. You must notify us of your chosen exam date at least eight weeks before the final assessment exam date. Please note that if you are not taking your final assessment at Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses, Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses cannot be responsible for the assessment date given to you or the timeframe by other training establishments.
Once you are ready to take your assessment, please complete the Assessment Request Form to schedule a time, please click here for the form. If you are taking Anatomy and Physiology as a general knowledge subject this does not need to be witnessed by the assessor.
11.3 - Please note that when you are completing your online assessments you must make sure that you have a good Wi-Fi, 3g or 4g connection. If the signal keeps breaking, then your assessment will be cancelled, and you will have to reschedule your assessment. This will be classed as a failed assessment.
11.4 - Please note that a final assessment can only be taken once, an administration fee of £45 will be charged per additional assessment. Please note that this fee will be £100 for an ITEC or VTCT qualification.
11.5 - All our courses are invigilated by an assessor to maintain the quality of the course and the qualification. Course certificates are normally issued within 5 working days after completing your final assessment. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm, excluding bank holidays. Please note that ITEC and VTCT and take three months for certification to be issued. This is not down to Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses.
12 - Feedback
At the end of the course, you will be sent a feedback form via email. This is extremely important for us to make sure that we are offering the correct level of service. Please take the time to complete this as we value your comments.
13.1 - Complaints
If in the unlikely event, you feel you wish to make a complaint against Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses, our complaints procedure can be found in your Learners Welcome Manual.
13.2 - Threatening, Intimidating and Unprofessional Behaviour
Please be aware that any form of threatening behaviour, including verbal or physical abuse, unprofessional behaviour, or being made to feel guilty will not be tolerated at Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses, either in the classroom, on the telephone, email or social media. If the tutor believes that they or another student feels threatened or intimidated, you will be asked to leave the premises. If you refuse to leave, the police will be called, and the incident will be reported to your professional body. Your course will not be rearranged, and no refund will be offered under any circumstance.

Where we have not hosted a course/event for you, we will retain the details relating to your initial enquiries of services for no more than two years.

The right to access personal data:
General Data Protection Regulation 2018 gives individuals who are subject of personal data (known in the General Data Protection Regulation as ‘data subjects’) a general right of access to personal data that relates directly to them. Consequently, under the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation, a data subject can ask the Company to provide him/her with any information that relates directly to them as an individual.
To request information, a written request and proof of identity must be received before any such information will be released by Brighton Holistics. We aim to supply all requests in a calendar month as prescribed in the General Data Protection Regulation this will be calculated from the day on which the Anatomy & Physiology Online Courses receives the written request.

Anatomy and Physiology Online Assessment Malpractice Policy
The aim of this policy is to ensure that there are no acts that seek to undermine the integrity and validity of assessment and the certification of the qualifications.
The term malpractice covers any deliberate actions, neglect, default or other practice that compromises, or could compromise:
- The assessment process;
- The integrity of a regulated qualification;
- The validity of a result or certificate;
- The reputation and credibility of the Awarding Body; or,
- The qualification or the wider qualifications community.
Malpractice may include a range of issues from the failure to maintain appropriate records or systems to the deliberate falsification of records in order to claim certificates.
Maladministration is any activity, neglect, default or other practice that results in the Learner not complying with the specified requirements for delivery of the qualifications as set out in the relevant codes of practice, where applicable.
Anatomy and Physiology Online does not tolerate actions or attempted actions of malpractice by:
Anatomy and Physiology Online may enforce penalties and/or sanctions on Students where incidents or (attempted incidents) of malpractice have been identified and proven.
Our rigorous assessment process will be open and fair when handling incidents or (attempted incidents) of malpractice.
The policy on malpractice aims to:
- Record the incidents or (attempted incidents) of malpractice
- Inform the Students as soon as practicable by email, phone or by letter
- Inform the Students of their rights and responsibilities
- Provide the students with an opportunity to discuss how they intend to rectify the situation
- Involve members of the Programme and Management team to investigate proven
- malpractice incidents or (attempted incidents).
- Handle the investigation in a fair, balanced and timely manner.
Anatomy and Physiology Online reserves the right in suspected cases of malpractice to withhold the issuing of a certificate, whilst the investigation is being carried out. The outcome of the investigation will determine whether or not the certificate is withheld or not.
Intervention and Support for Students
Students will be taught the process and appropriate formats for recording cited texts and other source materials or other materials including websites through face to face feedback sessions, study skills class and online formative feedback.
It is necessary for all students to sign a declaration for all assessed work to authenticate that it is their own work. This will ensure that when any incidents of malpractice have been identified or suspected, it would be considered as evidence which may be used in any investigation. The Students must be made aware of this on each occasion that the document is being signed, confirming that they are agreeing to the statement. As a result of signing the statement which states that: “the work is their own”, prior to signing.
Types of Students Malpractice
Plagiarism – by copying and claiming another person’s work as your own, including artwork,
images, words, computer-generated work, such as internet sources, inventions whether published or not without appropriately acknowledging the source and giving credit where credit is due.
Collusion – by working together with other students to produce work that is submitted for
assessment as individual work.
Impersonation – by pretending to be someone else in order to produce work for another Student or arranging for another person to take the place of another Student in an assessment or exam.
Altering – any results documentation, including assessment grading records and certificates.
Cheating - in a way that gains an unfair advantage through inappropriate methods.
Inappropriate Material - Inclusion of inappropriate, offensive, discriminatory or obscene material in assessment evidence. This includes vulgarity and swearing that is outside of the context of the assessment, or any material of a discriminatory nature (including racism, sexism and homophobia).
Inappropriate Behaviour - Inappropriate behaviour during an internal assessment that causes disruption to others. This includes shouting and/or aggressive behaviour or language and having an unauthorised electronic device that causes a disturbance in the examination room.
Frivolous Content - Producing content that is unrelated to the question in scripts or coursework.
Who will be involved in the malpractice Investigations?

Who will contact the Student?
- Internal Quality Assurance Officer
The Management Team will determine the penalty or penalties that Student may receive after all the processes and procedures have been explored during the course of the investigation.
What are the timescales?
Where any form of malpractice is identified the Student will be given time to re-submit his/her work with the next assignment submission deadlines which are normally at the end of each term.
If on the second submission the Student has been identified or suspected of any incidents or (attempted incidents), then they will be asked to re-enrol and re-do the module in the classroom.
Failure to comply with the above opportunities, the matter will be referred back to the Management Committee for a final decision. However, if the student is not satisfied with the decision then he/she can appeal the decision.
Types of Staff Malpractice:
The following includes examples of what Anatomy and Physiology Online considers to be malpractice by staff.
- Failing to keep awarding body assessment records safe and secure.
- Altering assessment and grading records without the proper authority.
- Influencing the outcome of the assessment by producing work for Students or providing the support that influences the grade awarded.
- Producing false witness statements.
- Allowing evidence which is known not to be the Students own work to be included in
- Facilitating and allowing impersonation and collusion.
- Inappropriate use of the reasonable adjustments and special considerations policy, where the support has the potential to influence the outcome of the assessment.
- Making fraudulent certification claims and/or claiming for a certificate prior to the
- The student completing all the requirements for assessment.
- Obtaining unauthorised access to assessment and verification material.
Types of Centre Malpractice:
Insecure storage of assessment instruments and marking guidance.
- Misuse of assessments, including inappropriate adjustments to assessment decisions.
- Failure to comply with requirements for accurate and safe retention of Learner evidence, assessment and internal verification records.
- Failure to comply with awarding body procedures for managing and transferring accurate Learner data.
- Excessive direction from assessors to Learners on how to meet national standards.
- Deliberate falsification of records in order to claim certificates.
The policy also concerns those actions that:
- Compromises attempt to compromise or may compromise the process of assessing the integrity of any qualification or the validity of an exam result or certificate; and/or damages the authority, reputation or credibility of Anatomy and Physiology Online, awarding body or any officer or employee
- The Management team takes seriously any suspected or reported case of malpractice or maladministration, which may be the result of a deliberate act, neglect, or failure in practice or system, or due to actions of an individual(s).
- Anatomy and Physiology Online will take appropriate disciplinary actions against the alleged/reported malpractice staff and the awarding body will be informed if deemed appropriate depending on the seriousness of the matter

Stage 1 - Review
Students or staff members may request a review of the decision made following the above process. The review is conducted by a panel consisting of representative(s) of the Tutor, IQA, assessor. The panel will consider the report made initially on the malpractice incident, imposed penalties as well as any new information or evidence subsequently provided by other relevant parties. Following a review, the initial decision may be upheld or overturned, or upheld but with a change to the penalties originally imposed.
Stage 2 – Appeal:
If the student or staff member does not agree with the outcome of the review, they have the right to take the process to Stage 2, which would involve an independent review of the case. An appeal at Stage 2 will only consider whether the panel set by Anatomy and Physiology Online at the review stage applied its procedures consistently, properly and fairly during the original investigation and/or the Stage 1 review and will cover any inconsistencies if noted.
The appeal panel will have had no involvement with the assessment or the administration of assessments and have no personal interest in the decisions under consideration.
The appeal panel may uphold the original decision or overturn it on the grounds that procedures were not properly followed. The appeal panel will not review the original investigation.
The Principal of Anatomy and Physiology Online is responsible for ensuring that all parties affected by decisions on malpractice or maladministration are informed of the outcome of the above processes.
Reporting to the Awarding Body:
Malpractice or attempted acts of malpractice that have influenced the assessment outcomes will be immediately reported to the Awarding Body and in cases of malpractice to the qualifications regulator if there's evidence that results or certificates may be invalid.
Oversee all investigations into suspected or alleged malpractice; withhold the issuing of results until the conclusion of the investigation, or permanently, where the outcome of the investigation warrants it; apply the sanctions and penalties listed in this document in cases of proven malpractice; report the matter to the regulators and other awarding bodies in accordance with the regulators’ General Conditions of Recognition. Report the matter to the police if proven malpractice involved the committing of a criminal act.
Anatomy and Physiology Online and the Awarding Body reserve the right, in suspected cases of malpractice, to withhold the issuing of results or certificates while an investigation is in progress.
